I believe eating healthily should be a priority. While I was in Melbourne last week working on the Melbourne Cup Carnival coverage I had limited time to prepare and cook meals while on the go so I had Eat Fit Food deliver meals to my hotel every morning. I first tried the service a couple of years ago and was impressed at the variety, quality of ingredients, convenience, but mostly how delicious the food actually tasted. Misha asked me to recreate some of their meals for dinner at home after that.

Every cooler bag comes with breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and juices for the day – the only thing you need to add is H2O. I chose meals from the Cleanse program which are free of dairy, wheat, gluten, red meat, unhealthy fats, refined sugars & low-zero food chemicals & preservatives. Some of my favourites are featured in this blog post. Prior to your first delivery you fill out a form which lists any food intolerances/ allergies or preferences. For Misha I ordered him meals from the X-Celerator program which include larger portions of protein and are great to support training & muscle building. I snuck some of his food too! It’s really nice to know there is healthy, wholesome food available for delivery that has been customised to your liking.

I don’t believe in counting calories to maintain a healthy weight or lose weight although I used to be like that when I was younger. Carbs were the devil. Now it’s about quality of ingredients over quantity. I listen to my body, follow the patterns of eating through different seasons, try to eat organic and local, eat as close to the natural food source as possible (loads of vegetables + fruit) and keep refined foods to a minimum. I hardly ever have sugar. Throughout the health coaching program I’m studying I’m learning so much more about the body and it’s relationship to food, also about the ‘primary foods’ in our life which include relationships, work, sleep, creativity and much more. Our bodies are out vehicle for life, they should be treated with love and care.
