Choc banana + chia seed smoothie

I’m not usually your smoothie-for-breaky kind of gal. I’d much prefer a plate or bowl full of solids that I can chew and enjoy, I’ve been fasting for the past 8 hours for goodness sake. My makeup artist – Mia Hawkswell – is a smoothie fanatic and even packs her blender and a cupboard full of healthy ingredients when she travels interstate for work each week. I love that dedication to healthy eating. Inspired by Mia, I decided to get my whiz on in the kitchen and start experimenting.

I was quite impressed with my concoction this morning. I used bananas I had bought fresh from the market yesterday and added maca powder for energy. There will certainly be more to come! Thanks Mia you rock!

Choc banana + chia seed smoothie
1 cup organic unsweetened soy milk
1/2 ripe banana (If you can, place in freezer for 30min-1hr)
1 tbls chia seeds
1 tbls maca powder
1 tbls cocoa powder
